Manifesto

Your art matters.

If you write, paint, act, dance, make films, or do anything involving creative thought, you are a valuable resource for the future of art. Expressing ideas and fragments of the human experience is a wonderful gift. Everyone can create; not everyone does. If you are an artist then you have a special purpose: to create for the world.

Art is power.

You may have been taught otherwise. You may have heard artists are irresponsible creatures who can barely make ends meet. Those old stereotypes are officially extinct. The evolution of art has brought about new opportunities for creative folks. As an artist, you have a thoughtful, curious, exploring mind. This is a necessary modern commodity. Companies cannot survive without creative thinkers and artists. Social media has demanded creativity, and will continue to do so. Artists can be smart, personable, financially successful, innovative, and channel creations for the greater good. Welcome to the new stereotype.

Your art can change the world.

Get in touch with your art now. This is a time of transformation. You can see the rapid changes happening in the world. You owe it to yourself and the world to create the highest possible future for Earth. Sound too ambitious? Maybe for the average citizen, but you are an artist. Set your doubts aside and feel the change vibrating in your life. The power of transformation is contagious and cumulative. There are plenty of artists latching onto this period of transformation and using its energy to improve their art, and improve our world.

Art can change reality.

Creative evolution is a process. Sometimes it can be individual (a painting inspires your day); sometimes local (one performance inspires a few people to change their community); sometimes it has a huge impact on a global scale (the transformative music of the 60s). The common denominator in all of these levels is creating.  You have a unique interpretation to share with the world. You probably won’t know right away if it will have personal, local or global impact. You may never know where the trail of your creative action leads;  art is mystical in this way. We don’t know if our work will inspire. We don’t know who it will affect, and we cannot spend time trying to create for the “right” people or audience. Everyone is the right audience. Our soul is the right audience. The key is to trust that the universe will work through us for the greater good. And the more artists we have out there creating for the greater good, the stronger our impact will be on the future.

Find your Creator State

The Creator State is a state of consciousness. Artists of all kinds; painters, musicians, writers, dancers and actors; can experience a heightened awareness while they create. When an artist surrenders to the creative force working through them, they feel inspired or connected to a larger consciousness. Some of us do our best work when we “give in” to our natural talents and become the art. These moments of deep connection are called the “Creator State.” Have you ever marveled at an actor’s honest performance, felt transfixed by a painting, or been moved by the beauty of a symphony? These are all examples of the Creator State in action; artists tapping into their unique gifts.

Collective consciousness

When you exercise your creative muscles, you are strengthening the position of artists in the collective creative consciousness. Adding your own work to the body of work in existence allows creative minds to grab a few more seats in the great hall of thought. The more positive thought we create in our art, the more we add to the collective conversation, and the stronger our influence will be on the future.

Empower yourself

  • Create regularly: Make the time and create something.
  • Forget your ego and work without doubt.
  • Get into your Creator State, and if you haven’t found it yet, keep trying.
  • Share your art. Your gifts will affect people, and they will affect others.
  • Find others to collaborate with. It keeps you motivated.
  • Visualize world peace or positive changes when creating.
  • You make something inspiring, others see the truth in it, and they spread it. It’s that simple.

Get active in the evolution of art. Create. Experiment. Expand. Make positive change a reality.
